Back in April I blogged about how to use masculine colors in a feminine way. This week I’m reversing it and blogging about bringing feminine colors into a man’s home. Colors like pink, purple, turquoise and gold are more often found in women’s homes than men’s, but there’s no reason men can’t utilize these gorgeous colors too!
I browsed Pinterest and many interior design websites to bring to you a collection of these colors in ways I think men might like.
Pink
By far the most “girlie” color of all, pink is also the most difficult to make look manly. That said, there’s something pretty sexy about a man who isn’t afraid to wear pink or sport it in his home! The safest bet with pink is to bring it in with accessories like furniture, flowers or a throw. If you’re brave enough, paint an accent wall!
Purple
Deep purple is such a lovely color and it can look great in a man’s home. In the images above you’ll see that it works really nicely in a rug or pillows.
Turquoise
Turquoise is one of those colors that leans toward women but men like it almost as much (at least that’s my opinion, anyway!) It looks really fantastic covering an entire wall. But if a whole wall is too much, try bringing it in with accessories or furniture.
Coral
Coral is such a stunning color that it should be used by men and women alike. Plus it looks great on anything! Whether it is a painting or a rug, coral is truly gorgeous in the home.
Gold
Gold looks great with just about any color, so this is probably the easiest “feminine” color to incorporate into a man’s home. From walls to accessories to furniture, pretty much anything gold goes!
What other feminine colors do you think look good in a man’s home? Please share! If I hear enough ideas maybe I’ll do a follow-up blog.
