Houseplants as Home Décor

One of my favorite ways to accessorize a home is with plants. Big ones, small ones, scented plants or aesthetically pleasing ones – they are a great way to bring some life into your home.

Not only are plants nice to look at, but there are countless health benefits to having them around, too! For example, aloe has air-cleaning capabilities and can be used on the skin, while lavender smells incredible and helps you sleep! Plant variations are countless, but I’ve collected some of my favorites from around the internet for a little inspiration if you’re looking to add some greenery to your home, all of which are easy to care for!

Burro Tail

This unique plant is very sculptural and would look great being hung in a sunroom.

Echeverias

This succulent is so naturally beautiful! It would look great in a terrarium or in a simple pot like the one above. Wherever you put it, just make sure it’s low enough so people can see it.

Kalanchoë thyrsiflora

Houseplants as Home Décor

Because of its size, this plant would be great in a window or on a desk.

Kentia Palm

Houseplants as Home Décor

What’s great about this plant is its height! If put in a proper pot, it would look great in the corner of a living room.

String of Pearls

Houseplants as Home Décor

This is another gorgeous succulent that would look nice on a corner or coffee table.

Geranium

Houseplants as Home Décor

If put in a sunny space, geraniums can flower all year!

Peperomia – Belly Button http://www.exoticangel.com/plant-library/species/peperomia/item/487-belly-button

Houseplants as Home Décor

This beautiful plant only requires medium light and water every 2-7 days.

Jade Plant

Houseplants as Home Décor

The Jade plant can grow up to six feet tall! This would be great in a sunroom or in the corner of a living room.

Ghost Plant

Houseplants as Home Décor

Nothing really beats the beauty of this lavender-blue plant! Again, this would be lovely on a windowsill but would also look great on a table, dresser or anywhere else low enough to be admired.

Resources on house plants

Houseplants are such a great way to breathe life into the home while adding to the décor, and so many are easy to take care of! What plants do you have in your home?

If you don’t have a green thumb and the thought of taking care of plants scares you a bit, then there are plants out there that have very little maintenance that can enrich your life. Make sure to check out this article: 13 Amazing Drought Tolerant Plants That Hardly Need Any Water
