Five Ways to Make Your Home Feel Like a Tropical Vacation
I don’t know about you, but I’m getting sick of winter! Living in Minnesota will do that to you once February comes around, but fortunately you can make your home feel like an escape to the Bahamas every day with a few little changes! Here are five simple ways to bring a vacation to you:
Crystal blues, greens and corals are all reminiscent of an island escape. Painting a wall will give you that exotic feeling every time you look at it.
You could be quite literal with bringing in the island feel on your pillows by having ocean prints like the one below, or you could just have some bright pops of color. Either route you take, colorful pillows are sure to brighten your mood.
Putting up a couple of pictures on the wall is another great way to bring warm weather to you. You can either go with an ocean scape image or even just a painting that has island-style colors like the one below.
If you don’t want to go so far as to paint a wall, you can accessorize a little bit. I love the look and feel of this cute seahorse picture! I think it would look really great in a bathroom or a nursery. Tropical plants are another good way to brighten up your home.
Perhaps most important of all of the ways to make your home feel like a tropical vacation every day is to have the right mindset. Pump some inspiration into your home with a wall piece like the one below, or even just put a little note on your refrigerator reminding you to breathe and take everything one day at a time.
Whatever you do, hang in there! Winter won’t last forever.
