Bringing a classic design scheme into your home is as easy as mixing black, white and a color of your choice. Black and white go great with any color, so this theme is simple and, most importantly, gorgeous! Whether you do this to your bathroom, kitchen, nursery or living room, black, white + a color looks fabulous.

Here are some great examples of the direction you can take with this classic color scheme:

This bathroom couldn’t be simpler, and yet it looks amazing! As you can see, all they did was paint the walls a bright color, add one accessory of that same color, and everything else – mirror, shower curtain, towels, etc … — is black and white.

This nursery is adorable! I love the pop of lime green mixed with zebra print and polka dots. Just like the above picture, they incorporated just a couple matching accessories to tie the whole theme together.

This living room is too much fun! I imagine what they did here was first choose what they wanted to do with the accent wall (the Burberry-colored one on the far right) and incorporated that theme into the rest of the room. As you can see, the mixed and matched patterns look especially beautiful when they’re all within the same color scheme.

How much do you want to wake up in the morning and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at that bright table? The sunshine yellow with black and white walls and furniture make this space an enticing place to be.

This is a subtler example of mixing black, white and a color, but I think it’s equally as lovely! What they did here is have almost everything black and white minus a couple accessories, which are a matching teal blue. Sometimes the simpler the better!

Matching colors as bright as this purple can be difficult, but look how well the pillows, couch and wall go together! One of my favorite parts of this living room is actually the frame hanging right on the wall, with the purple paint shining through. That’s a perfect way to bring the color scheme to life!

I love how this bedroom is jazzed up with a beautiful royal blue via the walls, some books and a couple of lamps. When you have a color this rich it can be easy to go overboard, but not if you do an accent wall and some accessories like this!

So are you convinced? Would you ever do black, white and a color theme in your home?
